Europe envoys pay tribute to totalitarianism victims

October 31, BPN. European diplomats have visited the burial place of the victims of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin’s terror in the Kurapaty woody area near Minsk.

“Minsk-based EU, UK, and Swiss diplomats visited Kurapaty to commemorate the countless lives and immeasurable talent lost to the scourge of totalitarianism,” the EU mission said on Facebook.

“As a people’s memorial, Kurapaty bears witness to the tireless work of many brave Belarusians who have taken great care to protect the dignity of the victims and the national historic memory through the upheavals of our times. We hope and pray that the lessons of history be learned,” it added.
