Łukašenka to leave for Bishkek on October 12
October 12, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka will travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, today, one day before the upcoming Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit.
He will present Minsk’s “position and proposals on the most pressing issues of interaction within CIS,” Pul Pervogo, his press office’s unofficial Telegram channel said.
The summit will focus on expanding the CIS role in the international arena while bilateral cooperation will be discussed on the sidelines, it added.
On October 3, the Belarusian ruler announced that he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the summit in Bishkek.
He said they would discuss in detail joint projects on the production and maintenance of aircraft, the possible construction of a second railway line to the Leningrad province, and ways to improve the transit of Belarusian goods through Russia.
However, yesterday, the Kremlin did not confirm plans for a bilateral meeting between Putin and Łukašenka at the CIS summit.
