Opposition cabinet’s finance rep resigns citing pressure

November 2, BPN. Businesswoman Taćciana Zareckaja has resigned as member of the opposition’s transition cabinet in charge of finance and economy, citing external pressure.

“Now that I’m actually being forced to choose between staying in the cabinet but subjecting my near and dear ones to stress and danger, giving up many years in business and the startup community, losing everything I could do for the Joint Transition Cabinet and Belarusian society, and resigning from the cabinet, I choose the latter,” she said on Facebook.

The cabinet said it understands the millionaire’s decision, offering her full support and solidarity.

Zareckaja, 28, joined the cabinet on September 9. The Laava Tech cofounder and CEO is listed in Forbes’ 30 under 30.
