Human rights defender Łojka remains behind bars
November 13, BPN. Authorities have not released human rights defender Anastasija Łojka after she served 15 days in jail, Human Constanta reported.
Łojka’s whereabouts are unknown. She remains in custody without medicines and hygiene items because the detention center administration does not accept parcels for detainees.
Authorities arrested her on October 28 and three days later, a court in Minsk sentenced her to 15 days in jail on charges of disorderly conduct. It was the third time that authorities jailed her on these charges.
Human Constanta urged international organizations to publicly state their position on Łojka’s arrest and persecution of Belarusian human rights defenders and to use all available international mechanisms to stop politically-motivated persecution in Belarus.
