German ambassador lays wreath at military cemetery near Minsk

November 15, BPN. German envoy Manfred Huterer laid a wreath at the Tarasava military cemetery near Minsk and paid tribute to the victims of both world wars and tyranny on Volkstrauertag, the German day of mourning.

“A wreath was also laid at a monument to the Red Army’s fallen soldiers,” the German Embassy in Belarus said on its website.

“We, those born later, have promised and affirmed that we will not forget the horrors of history, that we will preserve its memory and draw lessons for the future. Today, perhaps more than ever, it is important to mobilize resistance against oblivion and to give the ‘never again war’ a firm anchoring across generations,” the ambassador said.

He called the conflict in Ukraine a barbaric war of aggression.
