November 16, BPN. The Belarusian economy contracted by 4.7 percent year on year in January-October 2022, the statistics committee Belstat said.
The figure stood at 4.7 percent in January-September, and at 4.9 percent in January-August.
GDP increased by 2.3 percent in 2021.
In July, Alaksandr Łukašenka demanded that it should be maintained at last year’s level. The government had planned to increase it by 2.9 percent in 2022.
