Belarus’ industrial production down by 5.9 percent

November 16, BPN. Industrial production shrank by 5.9 percent year on year in January-October, the Belarusian statistics committee Belstat said.

A 6.8-percent decline is reported in the manufacturing industry and a 1.6-percent drop in gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air. At the same time, mining industry output increased by 2.3 percent.

In October, industrial production increased by 1.5 percent compared with the previous month.

Belarus was the only country in the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to report an industrial decline this year, the EEU statistics department said.
