IT professionals returning to Belarus – Łukašenka

November 17, BPN. IT professionals who left Belarus over Western sanctions have been returning home, Alaksandr Łukašenka said at the November 17 meeting discussing the future of Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park (HTP).

“They have tried living in foreign countries and realized that one is useful in the country where you were born,” Łukašenka’s press office quoted him as saying. “These are good trends. New [HTP] resident companies are registering, developing own IT products and unlocking new markets.”

The HTP should be working efficiently to benefit Belarusian interests, he added.

Its exports amounted to about $2 billion in the first nine months of 2022, Łukašenka said, noting that the figure was higher than he expected but lower than in the same period last year.
