Former state TV anchor, his wife, three others go on trial in Minsk
November 18, BPN. The Minsk City Court has started hearing a case against Dźmitryj Łukša, a former anchor at Belarus 1 TV channel, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.
Łukša’s wife Palina Pałavinka, cameraman Kanstancin Nikanoraŭ, as well as Anastasija Jaroŭskaja and Dzianis Jaroŭski, are also among the defendants.
Authorities accuse them of participating in protests, discrediting Belarus, inciting hatred and calling for sanctions.
Nikanoraŭ collaborated with Łukša in projects for Kazakhstan’s Khabar 24 TV channel, while connections of the other two defendants, Anastasija Jaroŭskaja and Dzianis Jaroŭski, to Łukša remain unknown.
Prosecutor General’s Office accused the journalist and cameraman of selling reports containing false claims about Belarus to a foreign TV channel.
