Belarusian border guards accuse Ukraine of provocation after spotting one armed man

November 20, BPN. The Belarusian State Border Committee has once again accused the Ukrainian military of provocation.

The committee published a video, supposedly made at the Słaviečna (Vystupovychi) railway checkpoint on November 19.

“A video camera … recorded an armed man moving from Ukraine towards the border,” it said. “Then he illegally crossed the border in the middle of a railway bridge, and entered Belarus. While on Belarusian territory, the Ukrainian serviceman took photos and videos of the area. He was also looking for something or installing something in the snow.”

A probe into the incident has been opened, it said.

On November 4, the border committee published a video of an APC carrying people in military uniform, supposedly made on October 29 at the Hłuškavičy (Maidan-Kopyshchenśkyi) checkpoint. The vehicle approached the Belarusian border only to turn away and drive back into Ukrainian territory 10 minutes later, it added.

Previously, State Border Committee Chairman Anatol Łapo expressed concern about the situation on the border with Poland and Ukraine.
