November 22, BPN. Belarusian Energy Minister Viktar Karankievič and Rosatom CEO Aleksey Likhachev signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in spent nuclear fuel management.
The signing took place at an international forum in Sochi on November 21, the Belarusian Energy Ministry’s press office reported.
The agreement sets out the procedure for transporting spent nuclear fuel to Russia, storing and reprocessing it there, and returning nuclear waste back to Belarus.
