State declares Hrodna news website extremist group
November 23, BPN. Hrodna’s city news website Hrodna.life has become the 11th media outlet declared extremist group by the Belarusian state.
An official register of extremist groups indicates that the Committee for State Security (KGB) made the declaration on November 11.
Other blacklisted media include the BelaPAN media company, Belsat TV, Radio Svaboda, Naša Niva, Bobruisk Online, Flagshtok, kyky.org, Chestnaya Gazeta, Euroradio, and Charter’97.
The state also attached the extremist label to Tut By Media, a company that had managed popular news website Tut.by before it was crushed in May 2021.
