Ukrainian military command calls on Belarusians to be vigilant about possible provocation
November 24, BPN. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ command has called on Belarusians to be vigilant and “not allow the country’s leadership to drag them into a fratricidal war with Ukrainians.”
Russian special services are preparing provocation in Belarus in order to draw it into the war against Ukraine, it said in a video address on November 24. It added that the target of the “terrorist attacks and provocation” is critical infrastructure, including the Astraviec Nuclear Power Plant.
“Monitor all suspicious activities, suspicious people and vehicles. Report them to law enforcement agencies. If you don’t see them reacting, inform the world community by all available means,” the military command said.
On November 20, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s main intelligence directorate said Russia was planning to stage false flag attacks in Belarus. These incidents may occur in territories bordering the EU and Ukraine, it added. It also named the Belarusian nuclear plant near the Lithuanian border a probable target.
Belarus has regularly accused Ukraine of acts of provocation on the border.
