US to isolate Belarusian regime as co-aggressor – American diplomat

November 30, BPN. The United States is trying to expose Russian atrocities in Ukraine and to isolate Russia along with Belarus as a co-aggressor, US envoy to the OSCE Michael Carpenter told journalists.

He explained this strategy by the lack of a mechanism to expel members from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

The diplomat stressed the need to ensure justice and accountability for all the war crimes, human rights violations, and possible crimes against humanity that have been committed in Ukraine.

On December 1 and 2, Poland will host a meeting of OSCE foreign ministers in Łódź. Andrej Dapkiunas, Belarus’ permanent representative to the OSCE, will is expected to attend. Belarusian opposition leader Sviatłana Cichanoŭskaja is to address the meeting and participate in a discussion on Belarus, initiated by the United States and Estonia.
