Forty-five percent Belarusians negative about nuclear plant launch – poll

November 30, BPN. Forty-five percent of Belarusians are critical about the Astraviec Nuclear Power Plant’s launch, a poll conducted by environmental organization Ecodom with support of independent sociologists has revealed.

Eighteen percent of Belarusians take a negative attitude towards the launch, and 27 percent take a slightly negative attitude. Eight percent of respondents have a completely positive attitude, and 27 percent have a rather positive one. Twenty percent of respondents had difficulty answering the question.

The researchers are concerned that the public lacks information about the state of affairs at the nuclear power plant.
