Belarusians net sellers of foreign currency in 2022
January 9, BPN. Belarusians sold $7.6 billion and bought $6.2 billion worth of foreign cash at exchange offices in 2022, the National Bank reported.
Individuals also bought $3.8 billion and sold $3.4 billion online.
In 2022, net foreign currency sales exceeded purchases by $26.3 million and by $53.4 million in 2021. According to the regulator, the country’s gold and currency reserves dropped by $495.5 million to $7.9 billion on January 1.
