Central bank’s net foreign-currency assets down $3.7 million in January

February 14, BPN. The National Bank of Belarus has reported a decrease in its net foreign-currency assets by 10.3 million rubels (about $3.7 million) to 19.5 billion rubels (about $7.3 billion) on February 1.

The central bank’s claims against government agencies rose by 0.38 percent to 4.426 billion rubels ($1.7 billion) in January. Its liabilities to government agencies grew by 4.17 percent to 13.8 billion rubels ($5.2 billion).

Cash in circulation dropped by 2.8 percent to 6.7 billion rubels ($2.5 billion).
