Interior ministry blacklists 45 over “extremist” activities

February 24, BPN. The Belarusian interior ministry has added 45 names to its register of people involved in extremist activities.

Their charges ranged from discrediting the Republic of Belarus and desecrating its symbols to financing extremism and fighting in a foreign conflict.

Some of them, such as IT professional Kaciaryna Sasim, Hrodna Azot worker Andrej Chanievič and former teacher Iryna Abdukieryna, were declared political prisoners by human rights groups.

The interior ministry’s list now has 2,487 entries.
