Former investigator Juškievič, three other men added to terrorism list
March 27, BPN. The Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) has added four more people to the list of “persons involved in terrorist activities.”
They are former investigator Jaŭhien Juškievič, 33, sentenced to 11 years in prison for insulting the president, rioting, and other similar offenses; Alaksandr Hrydziuška, 57, sentenced to four years for insulting the president and illegal handling of weapons; and Andrej Vałasač, 53, sentenced to six years for insulting the president, inciting hatred, etc. Human rights activists declared all three political prisoners.
The KGB also blacklisted Siarhiej Ułasaviec, 38, taken into custody for alleged acts of terrorism and damaging railroad tracks. These charges are often brought against “rail guerrillas” who hinder the transportation of Russian military hardware.
Presently the “list of terrorists” comprises 1,041 people, including 293 Belarusian nationals.
