Łukašenka lauds Russian intelligence assistance to KGB

April 4, BPN. Minsk and Moscow have stepped up intelligence exchange in the face of serious threats, Alaksandr Łukašenka has told Sergei Naryshkin, Russia’s foreign intelligence chief, at their meeting in Minsk.

“The quality of information has improved,” Łukašenka’s press office quoted him as saying. He also praised Russian security services for their assistance in technical intelligence, adding that Belarus remains open to cooperation,

“We, as well as you, have all sorts of thugs emerging within the society, with foreign terrorists behind them,” he said noting the recent arrest of a suspect in an attempted attack at the Mačuliščy airfield near Minsk.

“We have already arrested over 30 of his accomplices,” he said. “They are former and real scumbags who live in our society and help carry out unlawful acts, especially the terrorist attacks on their own land, against their own people.”
