Łukašenka, Putin to discuss integration, security concept on April 5-6

April 4, BPN. Vladimir Putin and Alaksandr Łukašenka would discuss import substitution, deeper cooperation and high-tech development at a meeting in Russia on April 5, Łukašenka’s press office said.

They would also discuss the “international situation” and “ongoing security measures.” The two leaders are planning to focus on a wide range of issues pertaining to the Belarusian-Russian relationship, including the ones that “are not subject to discussion” at the Union’s Supreme State Council.

The press office of the Russian president briefly said that Łukašenka and Putin would discuss “current bilateral and international issues” on April 5.

The Supreme State Council would meet on April 6 in Moscow.

According to Łukašenka’s press office, the body would discuss the progress in the key areas of the Union State Treaty’s implementation in 2021-2023, as well as the integration programs. It would also consider “the Union State security concept.”

The Kremlin specifies that the key areas provide for “joint work on the Union’s 28 sectoral programs.” “There are plans to arrive at decisions on a number of practical issues of further integrated cooperation,” it said.

Łukašenka and Putin last met on February 17 at the Novo-Ogaryovo estate outside Moscow.
