Belarusian anti-aircraft unit holding three-day drills near western border

April 5, BPN. One of the anti-aircraft missile regiment’s units of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces has started drills at the Brest training range near the border with Poland and Ukraine, the defense ministry’s press office reported.

The unit will march to a new position area and take up combat duty, training operations in conditions of constant active radio-electronic interference, sabotage, actions of reconnaissance groups and the use of UAVs, the ministry said.

On April 3, Alaksandr Łukašenka ordered a combat readiness check in the Belarusian Armed Forces. It takes place amid Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, in which the Belarusian leadership supports the Kremlin, and amid Minsk’s increasingly militaristic rhetoric towards Western countries.
