Anti-aircraft gunners practice defending critical facilities from air attacks

April 19, BPN. The Belarusian military holds tactical drills involving a unit of the Air/Air Defense Forces’ anti-aircraft and missile troops on April 19-22, the defense ministry’s press office reports.

Servicepeople are going to “march to assigned areas and perform several training and combat tasks to protect troops and critical civilian infrastructure facilities from the ‘enemy’ air attacks and precision weapons.”

In early April, the defense ministry reported that anti-aircraft gunners held tactical drills at a firing range in the Brest region, near the border with Poland and Ukraine.

On April 3, Alaksandr Łukašenka ordered a combat readiness check in the Armed Forces. It takes place amid Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, in which the Belarusian leadership supports the Kremlin, and amid Minsk’s increasingly belligerent rhetoric towards Western countries.
