Cichanoŭskaja outlines priorities at world congress

April 22, BPN. Speaking at the 2nd World Belarus Congress in Vilnius on April 22, Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja outlined her team’s priorities.

The top priority is that Belarusians restore their agency. “It is not easy because we are in a unique situation: we are the people of the country that does not belong to us,” she said.

Agency gives us “strength and the ability to influence decisions in international institutions and foreign states,” she added.

She listed the other priorities as: increasing the diaspora’s influence on developments and trends in Belarus; bringing the regime to justice; standing up for political prisoners.
