Russians help ten Belarusians leave Sudan for Moscow – foreign ministry

May 2, BPN. All Belarusian nationals who stayed in Sudan, including pilots, left the conflict-torn country, the foreign ministry’s press office reported late on May 1.

They departed from Sudan’s capital Khartoum on an evacuation flight to Moscow, diplomats said praising “the joint work with Russian colleagues.”

On April 17, the foreign ministry advised Belarusians against visiting Sudan. Three days later, it said ten Belarusian nationals were still staying there.

On April 28, foreign ministry’s spokesperson Anatol Hłaz said that six Belarusians made it safely to Egypt. On the same day, reports said that Russian diplomats helped two Russians and four Belarusians evacuate from Sudan.
