Foreign minister describes Equatorial Guinea as Belarus’ gateway to Africa
October 19, Pozirk. Belarus considers Equatorial Guinea “as a certain gateway to West and Central Africa,” Foreign Minister Siarhiej Alejnik told the members of the permanent bilateral commission on October 18.
Belarusian authorities are currently negotiating the creation of a “production and logistics center in Equatorial Guinea,” that would serve as a hub for Belarusian exports to the neighboring African countries, the foreign ministry’s press office reported.
Belarus is ready to facilitate Equatorial Guinea’s entry into the “huge promising market of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Alejnik said.
Alaksandar Łukasenka and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, president of Equatorial Guinea, are expected to approve a roadmap for bilateral cooperation by late 2023.
Intergovernmental agreements on economic, trade, cultural, scientific and technical cooperation were signed during Mbasogo’s recent visit to Minsk.
