February 7, Pozirk. Maryna Adamovič has been released after serving 15 days in jail for alleged petty hooliganism, activist Andrej Šarenda said on Facebook.

The wife of imprisoned Narodnaja Hramada leader Mikałaj Statkievič was arrested on January 23 during a crackdown on political prisoners’ relatives and former political prisoners.

On January 9, Adamovič said on Facebook that she has not received any news about Statkievič for 11 months.

On the same day, it was reported that he has been transferred to the penal colony’s internal prison (PKT).

The ByPol association of former law enforcers said the colony’s administration repeatedly subjected Statkievič to disciplinary sanctions last year. In addition, authorities collected “evidence” to charge him with malicious disobedience and add at least six months to his current sentence.

Plainclothes officers arrested the social democratic leader in Minsk on May 31, 2020.

In December 2021, a judge sentenced him to 14 years in a maximum-security colony for allegedly organizing mass riots.

He was later added to the official list of “extremists.”

In July 2023, a source close to Statkievič’s family told Pozirk that his health has deteriorated.
