August 13, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Russian House in Homiel has teamed up with the Alaksiej Ta\u0142aj Foundation and the Belarusian Peace Foundation to collect humanitarian aid for residents and victims in Russia’s Kursk province, the Russian NGO said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign accepts pillows and blankets, folding beds, household and electrical appliances, food, personal hygiene products, office supplies, school supplies, children\u2019s clothing, and medicines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the night of August 6, Ukrainian troops entered the Kursk province and have been advancing into Russia’s territory for a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Kursk acting governor Aleksey Smirnov told an operational meeting chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin that 28 villages had fallen to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The depth of the incursion into the territory of the Kursk region is 12 kilometers and the width is 40 kilometers,” Smirnov said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine’s top commander has said Kyiv’s forces control 1,000 square kilometers of Russian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had brought war to others and now it was coming back to Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Putin described the offensive as a “major provocation” and ordered Russian forces to “to kick the enemy out of our territory”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
