August 19, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian officers on August 17 arrested two men for possessing a drone in the border area near the Sabalany village in the Hrodna district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They planned illegal activities on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, the State Border Committee charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officers found a fixed wing drone, a remote control, a laptop, a gasoline generator, a compressor and some goods in their vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was the fourth arrest of drone owners this August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 15, the border guards arrested a local man near the village of Aziory in the Hrodna region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They found the man to be in possession of a DIY drone with a remote control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar cases were documented on August 2 and 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 1, the government enacted an edict prohibiting individuals from importing, storing, selling, operating or producing civilian drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, the operation of drones in the border area is a breach punishable under the Administrative Offenses Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
