August 22, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Border guards have seized seven fixed wing drones, as well as antennas, batteries, remote controls, a thermal imager and other equipment in the Brest district, the Belarusian State Border Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drones were found yesterday in the non-residential premises allegedly used for illegal UAV production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Belarusians have been charged under the Administrative Offenses Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Further operational and investigative measures are being carried out to establish all facts of the perpetrators’ illegal activity,” the committee said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was the fifth reported seizure in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 17, Belarusian officers arrested two men for possessing a drone in the border area near the Sabalany village, Hrodna district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 15, the border guards arrested a local man near the village of Aziory, Hrodna region. They found the man to be in possession of a DIY drone with a remote control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar incidents were documented on August 2 and 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 1, the government enacted an edict prohibiting individuals from importing, storing, selling, operating or producing civilian drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation of drones in the border area is a breach punishable under the Administrative Offenses Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
