August 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The US Treasury Department has announced sanctions against two Belarusian companies and their CEOs as part of the latest package against Russia’s supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unveiled on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day, the package is said to be a response to Russia’s continued war of aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian designations are listed among 400 individuals and entities, including those from Russia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are Raha\u010do\u016dski Zavod Dyjaprajektar (Rogachev Plant Diaprojector) and DNVA Para\u0161kovaj Mieta\u0142urhii (State Scientific and Production Association of Powder Metallurgy). Their respective heads are Hienad\u017a Filipa\u016d and Alaksandar Ilju\u0161\u010danka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the BelPol association of former security officers, the companies supply products for the Russian military industry: the former produces sights for armored vehicles and small arms and the latter develops warheads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, three Belarusian nationals were listed with the “secondary sanctions risk” label: Ihar Ku\u017amienka, Anton \u0141a\u016dren\u0107je\u016d and Alena Citova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As outlined in the statement, the State Department targets entities and individuals engaged in the prospective production and exportation of Russian energy, metals, and mining resources; the circumvention of sanctions; the Russian military-industrial complex; Belarus’ support for Russia’s military efforts; and “malign actors involved in the attempted, forcible ‘re-education’ of Ukraine’s children.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous US sanctions came on August 9, the fourth anniversary of Belarus’ presidential election. They concerned 19 individuals and 14 entities from Belarus, as well as Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
