August 25, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja has discussed bringing the focus back on Belarus during the upcoming European Union’s presidency of Poland in 2025 with Polish Minister of EU Affairs Adam Sz\u0142apka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politicians met on the sidelines of Campus Poland of the Future youth conference in Olsztyn, her aide Franak Viacorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja’s talks with Sz\u0142apka also stressed the need to secure the release of Belarusian political prisoners and support reprisal victims, civil society initiatives, independent media outlets and the Belarusian community in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, she discussed political prisoners and support for democratic Belarus with MP Pawe\u0142 Kowal, who chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Polish Sejm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja, who is visiting Poland on August 25 and 26, urged Warsaw to keep the borders open for passenger traffic, acknowledging the decision of Polish authorities not to block entry of Belarus-registered cars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
