August 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian prosecutors have asked the Supreme Court to declare the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment (KKR) and its units a terrorist organization, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Belarusian authorities had declared the regiment extremist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u017amitryj Brylo\u016d, spokesman for the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office, said the KKR prepares forces and means to stage a coup in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In pursuit of this goal, it may commit acts of terrorism and sabotage, take hostages, destroy or damage buildings and means of communication, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KKR is supervised by foreign governments and their secret services, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 24, 2022, Russia staged an armed invasion of Ukraine, starting the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II. The attack was launched from Belarus and other territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several Belarusian volunteer formations fight against the Russian aggression, the most famous of which is the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment. Although it is part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Belarus considers it an extremist group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to media reports, over 40 Belarusians have died resisting Russian aggression since the beginning of the full-scale war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
