August 26,<\/strong> Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Last night, Ukrainian air defenses downed 99 Russia’s Shahed attack drones, while the two others crossed into Belarus, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk has said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A similar incident occurred on July 16, when two Russian drones went missing in Belarusian airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, at least nine Russian drones reportedly had entered Belarusian airspace, of which one exploded, another was lost, and the rest continued their course to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian government, which supports Russia in its war against Ukraine, did not comment on the incursions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 10, amid the Ukrainian offensive in Russia\u2019s Kursk province, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka accused Kyiv of violating the Belarusian airspace with drones and sent back his troops to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, Ukrainian diplomats released a statement that sounded alarm over troops buildup in Belarus\u2019 Homiel region under the guise of drills and urged Minsk\u00a0to withdraw its forces from the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their Belarusian counterparts said Kyiv was launching “combat drones through the territory of Belarus,\u201d and stressed that the Belarusian army was ensuring national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
