September 10, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian MPs were invited to observe the United States presidential election scheduled for November 5, Ihar Sierhiejenka, speaker of the House of Representatives, told Belarus 1<\/em> in an interview broadcast yesterday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian delegations were also invited to observe the presidential election in Moldova on October 20 and the parliamentary election in Georgia on October 26, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House of Representatives is \u201copen to dialogue with European colleagues and partners,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights decided not to send an observation mission to the presidential election in Lithuania after the latter protested against the inclusion of monitors from Belarus and Russia in the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vilnius described their invitation as a travesty of democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
