September 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The award ceremony for the winners of the Belarusian Association of Journalists’ Free Word contest has taken place in Vilnius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaciaryna Ku\u0142akova won the first place in the information category (“Asia Bu\u0142ybienka: Cerberus Entered the Cell and Said: ‘Anastasija Has Not Reformed. She Is a Traitor to the Motherland.'”) Kaciaryna Palakova won the second place (“Interview with Stormtrooper About Bakhmut, Losses, Belarusian and Russian Armies”). The third place went to Viera Bie\u0142acarko\u016dskaja (“Ivulin on Preparedness for Prison, Guilt, and Karma of \u0141uka\u0161enka Supporters”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nasta Ro\u016dda’s interview with designer U\u0142adzimir Ce\u015bler was considered the best video in the category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury awarded the first place in the analysis category to Micha\u015b Pachol\u010dyk (“Belarus Tried to Brand Itself as Space Nation but Fell Far Behind Lithuania”), the second place to \u0179micier Jakuba\u016d (“Explainer: Why Belarusians Mostly Speak Russian”) and the third place to Makar My\u0161 (“China Pushes \u0141uka\u0161enka Toward Peace with Poland. How Important is Belarusian Transit for Beijing?”)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best video report in the category was by Stanis\u0142a\u016d Iva\u0161kievi\u010d, Alaksiej Marcinkievi\u010d and Maryna Vo\u0142kava from the Belarusian Investigative Center (BIC) (“Will Lifting Sanctions on Belarusian Potash Save the World from Famine?”)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0179micier Bartosik won the first place in the literature and journalism category for his series of essays “The Unpromised Land.” The second place went to Iryna Novik (“How Nasta \u0141ojka’s Dog Traveled 1,000 km and Learned to Bark in Czech”). The third place was shared between Iryna Chamrenka-U\u0161akova (“How Women from Dnieper’s Occupied Bank Save Villages After Flood from Power Station Blast”) and Aksana Le\u0144ka, who published her memoirs about her tough life in Baranavi\u010dy before forced emigration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best video in the category was Volha Voranava’s documentary “Simple Words About Micha\u0142 Aniempadysta\u016d.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar Jara\u0161evi\u010d and Ksienija Va\u017aniko\u016dcava were honored as the authors of the best investigation (“How Belarusians Drive Luxury European Cars to Russia Dodging Sanctions”). Alaksiej Hulicki won the second place for the series “Harassment at EHU.” The BRC’s Alaksiej Karpieka came third (“Why Businessman Close to \u0141uka\u0161enka Registers Businesses in the Name of Priest”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
