September 11, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarusian opposition politician Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka has urged the United Kingdom not to recognize the 2025 Belarusian presidential election, the transition cabinet’s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus does not have conditions for a fair and competitive campaign in 2025 as political reprisals continue unabated, he told Jennifer MacNaughtan, deputy head of mission at the British Embassy in Warsaw, and other diplomats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also focused on support to Belarusian civil society and independent media, as well as the simplification of visa procedures for Belarusian nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, \u0141atu\u0161ka and Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja called on their European partners not to recognize the results of the upcoming presidential election in Belarus, warning that there are no conditions for a free and fair race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seventh presidential election in Belarus is to be held no later than July 20, 2025. The BelPol association of former law enforcers warned that it might be brought forward to February 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
