September 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Dobru\u0161 District Court has found Mika\u0142aj Talejka, inspector at the Homiel branch of the Belarusian Trade Union of Commerce Workers, guilty of distributing extremist content, Viasna reported. The sentence is unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minsk Regional Court began the trial of Ina P\u0142achatniuk, accused of promoting extremism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dziar\u017eynski District Court began three trials over alleged violent disorder in connection with the 2020 postelection protests. The defendants are Andrej Bajdak, Viktoryja Ja\u0161u\u0161kievi\u010d and Volha Radziuk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An electronics engineer was arrested for protesting, according to Viasna and a pro-government source. Law enforcers released a video of him saying that he went to rallies at least five times in 2020. Earlier, the man was arrested for “negative comments.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Minsk artist was arrested for online comments. She allegedly insulted a police officer and the Belarusian and Russian authorities. The woman was also accused of sending information to the opposition project Black Book of Belarus exposing the identities of police officers responsible for brutality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities opened a criminal case against authors and guests of the “Plan:B” show on Belsat TV<\/em>. Law enforcers have been harassing participants’ relatives for months, the station reported. The show’s last season ended in May 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials blacklisted the Instagram account childfree_myway<\/em> and the TikTok page about_belarus<\/em> as extremist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Astraviec district, authorities identify citizens subscribed to “extremist” pages almost every week, said officials at a meeting chaired by the first deputy chairman of the district executive committee, Ivan Karni\u0142a, Astravieckaja Pra\u016dda<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of September 13, human rights defenders identified at least 1,347 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
