September 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Washington will continue to support the Belarusian people and the democratic community, US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt M. Campbell told \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja at a meeting in Vilnius, the opposition leader’s chief adviser Franak Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting participants discussed Russia’s use of Belarusian airspace for military operations against Ukraine and the regime’s arms supplies to the Russian army, according to Via\u010dorka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He quoted Cichano\u016dskaja as saying that the 2025 Belarusian presidential election will not be transparent, free and fair and should not be recognized by the international community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parties also discussed “concrete steps that the international community and the United States can take to free Belarusian political prisoners and end repression.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 5, 2024, the United States will hold a presidential election. Its results will determine, among other things, appointments, including to the Department of State. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new US president will be sworn into office in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
