September 17, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja has called for support of the Belarusians’ struggle for independence in her address to MPs from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) at the Rose-Roth seminar in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day event focuses on strengthening NATO\u2019s eastern frontiers, supporting Ukraine and the situation in Belarus and the Baltic region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her address, Cichano\u016dskaja thanked the NATO PA for consistent support of a free and democratic Belarus, distinguishing between Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime and the Belarusian people and giving Belarusians a voice in the international arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less than a third of Belarusians see NATO as a threat despite the relentless anti-Western and anti-Ukrainian propaganda in their country, the politician noted. The Belarusians should be considered allies in the \u201ccommon struggle against Russian imperialism,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
