September 17, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja will visit the United States from September 23 to 27, her press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As last year, her visit is timed to coincide with a session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The politician is determined to discuss ways to force Russia withdraw its troops and nuclear weapons from Belarus and accountability for Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and his officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her agenda also features a discussion on Belarus hosted by the European Union’s delegation in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 25, the politician will deliver a lecture at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and is expected to be awarded the 2024 Lantos Human Rights Prize in Washington, DC the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja also plans to hold several political meetings while in Washington. Her US visit will conclude on September 27 in Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
