September 20, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Pro-government sources reported on September 19 arrests of at least 12 people, including activist and local history enthusiast Pavie\u0142 \u0141a\u016drynovi\u010d, in H\u0142ybokaje, Viciebsk region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another raid in Stolin, Brest region, resulted in five arrests allegedly linked to \u201cextremist activities.\u201d One of the arrested is known as Vadzim Viatko\u016dski on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online content<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaciaryna Arda and \u0141arysa Ilkievi\u010d were tried in the Hrodna region for sharing opposition content, the Pravo Imeyut<\/em> Telegram channel said. The sentences are unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information ministry reported extremist content designations for social media by Volha Takar\u010duk and Okolo Kultury project. Other blacklisted content includes BelMemy<\/em>, Andrei Strizhak<\/em>, Libereco PHR<\/em> and INeedHelpBY <\/em>on Instagram; nikmen131<\/em> and Ne Izbrannye<\/em> on TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities suspended a criminal investigation against some participants of the Plan B show on Belsat<\/em>, a TV channel deemed extremist in Belarus, after failing to establish the defendants’ whereabouts, Belsat <\/em>reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian national Ivan Postnov was deported to Ukraine earlier this year after spending 142 days in a Belarusian pre-trial detention center, zerkalo.io<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of September 20, human rights defenders identified at least 1,324 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian authorities have arrested about 65,000 people for political reasons in the four years since the August 2020 presidential election, Viasna reported in early August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
