September 27, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Foreign MinisterMaksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d met with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), at the UN headquarters in New York yesterday and agreed to “continue and systematize bilateral cooperation,” the Belarusian ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting comes months after the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies suspended membership of the Belarusian Red Cross over its chairman\u2019s alleged involvement in facilitating the illegal transfers of Ukrainian children to Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreign ministry said that Spoljaric confirmed the organization’s “non-politicized nature” and put forward several humanitarian initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ICRC has not reported any details of the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ry\u017eanko\u016d also met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s secretary of state, to discuss “peace initiatives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He met with the Hungarian, Indian, Kazakh, Nicaraguan, Qatari, Russian, UAE and Uzbek foreign ministers and participated in negotiations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization foreign ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
