September 29, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Although Belarus’ contacts with the European region are frozen, “positive trends” have emerged, House of Representatives chairman Ihar Sierhiejenka said in an interview broadcast by the STV<\/em> channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, the upper house, have formed friendship groups “for individual countries” and there is some progress, Sierhiejenka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Literally this month, on the initiation of our deputy, contacts were established with parliamentarians from Slovakia, Serbia and Bulgaria at a patriotic forum. We hope that they will be developed,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democratic nations imposed sanctions on Belarus for violating human rights and supporting the Russian full-scale invasion against Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the UN General Assembly’s 79th session in New York on September 28, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d said sanctions grossly violate international law, slow down sustainable development and undermine food and energy security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
