At the same time, authorities release dozens of people every month \u2013 those who have served their sentences or who have left remand centers to serve their restricted freedom sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, authorities release political prisoners on pardon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volha Za\u0142atar, a mother of five who was arrested in March 2021, was released in September after serving her prison sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those pardoned included Maryna Kisialevi\u010d, an activist of the Mothers-328 group, and Andrej To\u0142\u010dyn, a former journalist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has pardoned 115 people since July 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 16, \u0141uka\u0161enka signed an edict pardoning 37 people sentenced for &#8220;extremist&#8221; crimes.
