{"id":107871,"date":"2024-10-04T13:03:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T10:03:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/107871\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"number-of-teachers-in-belarus-down-8100-since-2020","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/107871\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of teachers in Belarus down 8,100 since 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 4, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The number of secondary school teachers in Belarus fell from 111,400 at the start of the 2020\/21 academic year to 103,300 three years later, according to the official data analyzed by <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus marked Teachers\u2019 Day on October 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In three years, cities and towns lost 3,900 teachers; rural areas, 4,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Years 2020 and 2021 stand out as 4,700 out of the 8,100 left the profession in this period marred by the crackdown on dissenters and mass political emigration after the disputed 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students-to-teachers ratio rose to 11 students per teacher in 2023 from 10 in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In three years, the proportion of female teachers rose by 0.8 percentage point to 87.3 percent, while the number of teachers with higher education fell 0.5 percentage point to 93.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The percentage of male teachers in humanities declined to 1.7 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat) has not released information for this school year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 4, Pozirk.
