{"id":108412,"date":"2024-10-08T16:59:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T13:59:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/108412\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"dabravolski-instead-of-accusing-platform-2025-hold-fair-election","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/108412\/","title":{"rendered":"Dabravolski: instead of accusing Platform 2025, hold fair election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 8, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian opposition politician Alaksandar Dabravolski dismissed charges against his associates as an attempt by Minsk to defend the Belarusian leader from free and fair elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja&#8217;s political aide commented to <em>Pozirk<\/em> on criminal cases against 45 Belarusians abroad, allegedly connected with Platform 2025, an agreement by several opposition agencies signed at the New Belarus conference in August, and demonstrations of solidarity in various cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of pressing charges, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka should hold a fair presidential election in 2025, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If someone [\u0141uka\u0161enka] believes that he is the master and acts on the assumption that the people should serve him, he does not need a real election. In fact, he does not need any election, only imitation to justify his rule with supposed popular support,&#8221; Dabravilski said in apparent reference to the Belarusian leader\u2019s alleged plan to rig the upcoming presidential poll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He went on to say that officials defend their master from a free election and accuse those demanding it of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He called on investigators &#8220;not to look for a crime where there is none, because in doing so, officers themselves are committing a crime.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Change will come to Belarus anyway. People will elect a government they will trust, and it will work for their benefit. This is what Platform 2025 stands for. There is no point in clinging to the past.
