October 12, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The European Union (EU) stopped 710 illegal entries from Belarus in the first 10 days of October, 60 percent fewer than in the same period last year, according to Pozirk<\/em>‘s analysis of data from border agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland reported a decrease of 15.8 percent, Latvia 81.5 percent and Lithuania 89.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 11, the Latvian State Border Guard stopped 19 illegal entries and the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service stopped 14. Poland is expected to release the update tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of the year, border guards foiled 32,664 attempts to sneak into the EU, including 27,375 in Poland, 4,626 in Latvia and 663 in Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The migration crisis at the Belarusian-European border has been ongoing since the spring of 2021. Poland and the Baltic states call it a hybrid attack organized by Minsk and Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
