October 17, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Pavie\u0142 Lemiech, a priest from the Our Lady of F\u00e1tima parish in \u0160umilina, Viciebsk region, has fled Belarus, Viasna Viciebsk reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May, authorities sentenced Lemiech and pastor Andrzej Juchniewicz to 10 days in jail for “online picketing” for a picture of the white-red-white flag, Viasna Viciebsk reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lemiech also told the judge that he posted a photo of the Ukrainian flag to Facebook to express his “sorrow for the death of civilians in the neighboring country after a Russian attack.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
