October 18, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alina Ko\u016d\u0161yk of the opposition transition cabinet has urged Belarusians to use creative approaches and non-standard forms of protest, the cabinet\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tactic is more likely to attract international attention while being less risky for those who use it, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician made her statement at the meeting of the working group on national identity, culture, sports and diaspora activities, set up as a part of the strategic dialogue between the United States and Belarusian pro-democracy forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world can learn about Belarusians’ plight through the art, which may help preserve cultural traditions, effectively counteract reprisals and unite various social groups, Ko\u016d\u0161yk added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCooperation between the United States and Belarusian pro-democracy democratic forces can help support these initiatives and ensure a broader presence of Belarusian issues in the international arena,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in December 2023, the dialogue aims to bring together US government agencies and Belarusian political leaders, civil society leaders and ordinary Belarusians. It is expected to help establish long-term partnerships and strengthen Belarusian independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
